Hey Nutz! I just rechambered a Husky from 9.3 X 57 into 9.3 X 62, and I'm loading up the Prvi 285's that I got from Tradeex. I'm wondering if anyone has used this combination and would care to comment on how it worked out. I am quite aware that whatever animal I hit well with it will die quickly, due to energy and bullet size, but I am mostly curious on bullet construction. I plan on using it for elk, but also for deer. The deer I hunt out here (near Sask border) are very large muleys, and rarely go under 225 pounds, if ever. I know I don't 'need' this kind of power, but it is nostalgic.

I'm working up loads for mine in '06 brass as we speak; I'm loading the 285 Privi with H-414/Win- 760. I've also got Barnes 250 gr TSXs, Nosler 250 gr ABs and 286 gr Partitions, 270 gr Speer, Norma Alaskan 285s and 320 gr Oryxs and Lapua Mega 285s. I got better velocities with the 250 ABs and 270 gr Speers with H-335, but I think the slower powder will prove better as bullet weight increases over 270 gr.

Wow, you sure are interested in testing! I loaded 10 with 56 grains of IMR4895 behind the 285's, which is the only bullet I have right now. Hope to test others in the spring, if I don't get bored and sell it first!

I've got a bit of experience with them, two black bears, 3 deer, an elk and a steer so far.
They work fine on game at original 9.3x62 velocities, open up and penetrate well.
Its not a nosler partition but they've killed everything I've hit with em so far. Most DRT.
58.0 Rl 15 , fed 210 and privi case is the recipe

58.0 RL15 with 285 Privi is what I use in my CZ550 FS. 3 moose thus far, one shot each all in the furnace, didnt need any more ..... they retain weight very well as they have been made for 9.3X62mm velocity
