Taking influence from the x57 thread below-
Does anyone have first hand experience with barrels around 20" vs those around 23"plus on the 9.3x62 ITO 2 factors:
1) Velocity loss? I know Bock's cartridge isn't a speed demon and isnt meant to be, also a real test would obviously be to use the same barrel cut progressively shorter BUT for the sake of interest has anyone one chrononed the same ammo from barrels of these or other varying lengths? Alternatively if you have a shorter barrel around 20" how have your loads done ITO muzzle velocity?
2) Noise increase?
I know that the 9.3x62 has a fairly low expansion ratio so I expect the marginal differences will be less than most magnums or something on the same case like a .270Win for example, but I am curious.
Thanks
