9.3x62 Best Factory Ammo for Elk / Grizzly ?

I have a 98 standard action Husqvarna 146 converted to 9.3x62 from 9.3 x 57.

I do not want to reload, and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used factory ammo for larger game including Elk / grizzly and can give some recommendations.

for factory ammo , I was going to say the cheapest stuff you can find :D ....... you don't really need anything really fancy , it is just a big , heavy bullet moving at moderate speed , that can kill anything in north America with ease .

and I was going to point you toward these ( http://www.tradeexcanada.com/content/prvi-partizan-93x62-ammunition-285gr-sp ) fairly inexpensive and the bullets used in them seem to be well made .

but then I stubbled across these ( http://www.tradeexcanada.com/content/sellier-bellot-93x62-barnes-triple-shock-ammunition ) if these shot well in your gun this is what i'd be using to actually hunt with . the reason I say this is , I have a very high opinion of Barnes bullets . even though what they bring to the table may not be needed , they should fly a bit flatter than any of the 285 / 286 round nose offering you will find .

Have you used 9.3x 62 ammo on Elk or Grizzly? because I really want to get some acutal performance feedback.

I want to use the cheapest ammo that gives the best performance ( to have my cake and eat it too of course) but I am familiar with PRVI Partizan and would not choose that as the product I would want for a Grizzly hunt. It seems to me to be a deer / moose bullet at best, having researched on the net. Thanks again.

Ive only used handloads but have had good results with the Privi as well , flattened elk and 6-6.5 foot black bears, I wouldn't feel undergunned with a x62 loaded with privi's but the best bullet performance for me so far has been 286gr partitions.

you have plently of power with that cartridge, you don't need a super performance bullet unless you want one, Prvi partisan is probably going to be "the cheapest ammo that gives the best performance" as you asked for, if you want more performance then cheap has to come out of it. buy the most expensive ammo you can find.

seen them used and have used them myself on deer and they work just as well as any other bullets ive seen used.


just a few years ago no one thought twice about using cheap ammo like Winchester powerpoints in their .300 win mag on a moose hunt, now all the sudden if the ammo doesn't have some crazy name like "nuclarblast triple expansion hollowpoint" its "not going to work" I just don't get it.

but no I unfortunately cant give you any report on shooting Grizzly with 9.3x62, use whatever ammo your comfortable with.
