yes i remember our exchange. My T3 recoil isnt too bad. Mind you, when I used it most, it was in a B&C stock. Very accurate rifle.
try full load of 450 grains in the 416 ruger and it may change your recoil perception ... but always good to hear some comparison.Don't have one in 9.3 but have one in 300wm with the tupperware stock and I have to admit the felt recoil appears much sharper than my friend's (same caliper in 300wm) in laminated stock.
I am no recoil shy person but I rather hunt with my 416 Ruger (Alaskan in synthetic stock as well) than my Tikka 300 wm go figure.
was it wood or synthetic sotck?Recoil was very sharp on the one I had, could easily shake the fillings out of your teeth. Sold it pretty quickly.
same question for you: was it wood or synthetic sotck?I had a Battue T3 it was a dream to carry and hunt with, but recoil was severe, so I eventually sold it.
I'm thinking of rebarreling mine to 7x57, as I have a Ruger #1 in 9.3 as well.
There is just more merit in a light 7mm than in a light 9.3
I don't live in bear country though.
Don't have one but want one.

Curious where do you find load data with 450 gr bullet for the 416 Ruger?
Great rifle - Mines' a T3 Hunter model, recoil is like a 3006 with max loaded 286gr Partition (2480fps) and 250gr ABs (2690fps).
I also had a CZ550 manlicher carbine but got rid of it - liked the T3 way way better.
woodleigh reloading manual ...
if you really want one it is always possible even with long delays. i ordered one from an approved cgn dealer and in left hand version with open sights: 6 to 12 months wait to get it.

same question for you: was it wood or synthetic sotck?
what load are you using in yours?
i shot different t3s in 300 wm and wsm and once the recoil pad was changed it helped to tame the recoil.
i shot one with a bc stock and i find it too more stiff than the regular tikka stock so it helped to manage the recoil of a 300 win mag and i helped a local guy to install his bc on his 300 win mag t3 as well but never shot that one.
i may go with a laminate boyds stock.
thank you for all your replies.
