  • good results with Alliant 2400 for reduced loads in other rifles
  • 9.3x62 hunting load previously developed 250gr TSX @ 2425 fps mv
  • thought I'd try 285gr PPU / 1.9cc~25gr 2400 / BR-2 / PPU brass
  • ***safe in my rifle ONLY non-published load NOT a recommendation***
  • 1500 fps mv very good accuracy
  • less powder / less recoil / less wear / more target shooting 👌🏼

Anschutz make great quality rifles, congrats!. Those 9.3 cartridges sure do have recoil, I reducted my 9.3x74R by 200fps, from 2,550 to 2,350. I'm courious to know if that velocity is fast enough for good penetration, from 150 yards and beyond.

For cheap plinking I bought the Mississouri cast bullets. Cheap. They are coated with a black lubricant and don't lead at moderate velocities.

I got good results with both 4227 and 2400.

No recoil and very good for getting off hand practice.

^^
Those would do maybe ~70 cents each shipped vs a buck for 285gr PPU's shipped. I might go for 95gr 9x18 (0.364" dia.) Berry's plated available locally see how these work in my 9.3's as plinkers.

Instead of shooting Reduced loads in .416, why don't you just shoot full loads in 9.3X62... kill two threads with one load.
