Researching a 9.3X62 Brno with a 20" barrel before buying.
Most reloading data I've seen is taken from a 22 or 24 inch barrel for the 9.3. I know that the bore size of .366 shouldn't be as sensitive to a shorter barrel as the smaller bores (6.5, .270 etc) but there is a point where velocity begins to measurably drop as the barrel shortens. Each rifle is different but there has to be a consensus as to where that barrel becomes so short such that velocity falls of without question.
I am looking to get a hard hitting rifle utilizing heavy bullets (thanks for other calibers suggestions, but I have already chosen the 9.3) and see no point in losing power in a short barrel.
Therefore what has been the experience of you out there that reload this caliber in shorter barrels?
Please be specific in data; powder, primer, bullet, etc, seating depth, full or NS cases, pressure signs if any etc. The more detail the better the information. Chronographed velocities only please and thanks.
Greatly appreciate the input.
