Has anyone tried the 220gr Naturalis 'LR' in 9.3x62, more specifically have you loaded it with Varget?

I have some to test but can't find 'official' published Varget data. There are some internet loads that go up to 60gr. I am currently shooting 235gr Rhino solid shanks over 56.5gr Varget and CCI250's which appears to be fairly mild/middle of the road load at a little over 2400fps in the CZ FS (Rhinos are moly coated which would affect pressures). The 220gr Naturalis are BT's with a long ogive and hence a short bearing surface.

Any experience? I am thinking 55gr Varget would be a safe start.

I can't help in that the lightest I've loaded in mine were the 232gr Norma Oryx. I'm not familiar with rhe Naturalis, so I hope you please update us with your results. Sounds interesting to me...?

As you may know, you can use data for the 250gr bullet...with lighter bullets of course......Harold

Thanks all,

Burnt Servo, you may be right about burnt rate. I am trying to settle on Varget and H4350 for the bulk of my rifle loading. I do have some Benchmark on hand, but that might be a bit fast. You are also likely right that case capacity for will be a limiting factor. From my current loads I suspect that by the time I get to 58 and 59gr I’ll be close to the bottom of the bullet. That said, the Naturalis ‘LR’ seems well designed to account for case capacity. The long ogive permits fairly long OAL and I doubt the base will protrude much past the case neck, at most a tiny bit into the shoulder area.

Harold, I used 250gr TSX data as a guide for the 235gr solid shanks, it’s a good starting point indeed.

Cheers
