has anyone got experience with this caliber in the tikka t3 seems to me to be a bit of a jumper in such a lite rifle. how about other makes CZ or steyer or voere ?

Its excellent in the T3, mine was a Stainless Lite and now belongs to my son.Recoil is lighter than the same rifle in 338 WM and it shoots very well with all bullet weights tried.

Ruger chambers the 9.3x62 in the M77 African. I think that would be my first choice if I was buying a 9.3. Nice rifle, fitting to the chambering.

I've had one of these on order for 4 1/2 months now and Ruger seems more interested in producing those useless Gunsite Scouts then the Africans in 9.3x62.
I'm starting to look around for a CZ now (I definitely want a 1:10 twist rate), the Battue Lux looks like it would be a nice rig and I've always liked CZ's single set
trigger, also having a fully adjustable trigger is a big plus in my books. The Ruger is a beautiful rifle in concept, but if they don't actually produce them then it's
just a waste of time. As it has been for me for the last 19 weeks.

The CZ 550 Battue Lux, the same price range as the Ruger African and they actually produce them.

I have been contemplating buying the CZ 550 Carbine Kevlar in 9.3 x 62 since I saw it on thier web site. Never seen one for sale though.

Ruger is delivering the 9,3x62 but first we re not their main market and not only for rifles and then the 9,3x62 is a hit and as any hit in the industrial world is there more asking than delivering then become the time for wait ... in firearms world patience is the word if there is someting you really want ...

but CZ or Ruger are really good choice.

all the best.

My gosh what is CZ thinking with that design, some of it looks nice but those sights are grotesque!
Put the screws to Ruger and keep after them. If I really needed a 9,3 get one from Tradeex while you wait. My gag reflex every time I looked at the CZ would scare all the game away.

I'm on the same page as you Noel, clean that barrel down right to the round and it would clean up nicely. :)

my cz 550 308 is in the full stock and i love it but i realy like the looks of that battue, i was wondering about the tikka i have one in 6.5x55 swede beautiful acurate to shoot light recoil i guess i figure the 9.3 would be hard to handle but some on here think its very bearable

ha: I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right.:D
But what's important is it has everything I'm after: Iron sights, integral scope mounts, 1:10 twist rate and Mauser style controlled feed. As a bonus, CZ
comes with the fully adjustable single stage and set trigger. On the downside, CZ no longer supplies a set of scope rings with their rifles, but that's not a deal
breaker. What tires me of the whole ordeal is the "It'll be in the next shipment" BS that I've been putting up with for so long now. When I originally ordered
the Ruger I was told 6 to 8 weeks, 10 weeks at most and now it's always the next shipment. After a while the eager anticipation starts to turn into bitter
resentment for being treated like a fool. I haven't totally given up on the Ruger, but if I come across a CZ that fills the bill (and not necessarily a Battue Lux),
it'll be "Goodbye Ruger, Hello CZ" and the search has started in earnest.

They're getting them in the States. That's a good start!

Sorry for highjacking your thread with my whine and cheese festival JC.
I have no first hand experience with Tikka's in 9.3x62mm, but those owners who I've talked to about it seemed very happy with their rifles. The Sako's and
Tikka's don't meet the criteria that I'm looking for, but I'm sure they'd perform like most them do: extremely well. I've heard of people with the T3 Battue in
9.3x62 replacing the stock recoil pad, but then it is a very light rifle, so I'm not surprised. Obviously, the 1:14 twist rate is not an issue for you, so you might
also want to consider the Zastava M98 rifle; I know Epps deals in them.
