90's Vintage M305 barreled action quality

Hey guys, just curious as to the quality of the rifles imported in the 90's. I had a 2012 version that had the usual issues but overall wasn't too bad. Is it worthwhile building a rifle wih a 90's era barreled action?

From what I've read - primarily on American forums - the quality of the receiver should be excellent, but the bolts of that vintage could be soft or too hard (and brittle). If you're looking at the barreled action for sale on the E.E. I would ask for detailed pictures and ask questions, then make a decision based on the quality of that specific barreled action.
 
There are a couple of advantages to the earliest imports. Sure the stocks were pathetic, but ... there is one version that didn't have the scope base on the left sidewall and has a big Norinco 'Star Trek' logo. They also have wonderful finish. The second reason is I've seen some that had a particular M14 design part in the trigger group. Not capable of anything exotic, but a closer and more authentic rendition of the original drawings.
 
Thanks guys. I guess it is like anything, check it out aswell as you can before buying. I just wanted to know if there was any inherently bad characteristics with the 90's editions of these rifles. As for the sketchy bolts, I have one from a 2012 version that I could chuck in. Just getting the bug to build another one..
