Hello im newbie here ! , I have a question for you : if you have a choice for a handgun what do you prefered beetwen Beretta 92fs Brigadier or 96 brigadier and for what , or do you have another choice for the same price ?

Thank you for your reponses .

Get what fits for you and what you can shoot the best. My first pistol was a 96 Brigadier. I loved it, great gun, I can't say anything bad about it other than everyone could shoot it great BUT me. Eventually I sold it to another member here on Gun Nutz and bought what fits me the best.. a Glock 22.

Shoot as many guns as you can before deciding on one.

Well the only difference between the two is the calibre 92FS is 9mm and the 96FS is .40S&W

So what do you want 9mm or .40?

I would actually recommend going with 9mm; since this is your first gun (I'm assuming) it's better to get something with less recoil (easier to learn with IMO) and the other (and biggest) reason the COST! 9mm ammo is a bit cheaper so you can shot more.

Beretta is a good gun, so you're on a right track :)

I too would go with the 9mm, but have a .40 Elite II for sale if you want it............

What is the Brigadier model? Is it just the hogue style grips added or are there more ? And do you guys know how much they retail?

Retail for about $1150 for the 96 Inox version.

From the Beretta USA Website...
The Brigadier was designed to meet the special needs on the INS* who wanted an accurate, reliable and durable .40 caliber pistol with removable front and rear sights. The pistol incorporates all the high performance characteristics of the traditional 92 Series pistols plus features that are unique to the Brigadier.
The Brigadier’s slide is heavier and recontoured. Because of the heavier slide, the gun’s balance is enhanced and felt recoil is reduced, improving accuracy for follow-up shots. The Brigadier is available, on request, with wrap around, stippled rubber grips and hex key grip screws.
The Brigadier is also manufactured in a stainless steel version (92 Brigadier FS Inox).

the main diference is the heavier slide, Bruniton/black 92/96 Brigarier don't the the hogue grips. if you look around you can find one in INOX for $1050...

Maybe I will have to put an order through for a Beretta 96 Brigarier...they DO have the hogue style grips, that's what yo u're saying, right? That's what it looks like in every picture of the m.
