Hey everyone I'm picking up a savage 93r17 with a tapered barrel and am looking to get a pro varmint from boyds to replace the tupperware. They only have that stock in bull barrel option. Would that be an issue with the standard tapered barrel or just more free float?
 
It will give you more free float.If you are as OCD as I am I just glued some strips of veneer into the channel to tighten up the gap but still allowed room for free float.Used a piece of dowel and clamp to hold the veneer in while the glue dried and then stained and oiled to match the stock
 
Thanks! good idea with the veneer. Although I may upgrade to a BB one day. That being said is there a sponsor that sells aftermarket savage hmr barrels?
