I thought the germans numbered the wood?

Gew 98

Yes, still very collectable and rare, and do you see more than 1 Gew 98 for sale a year on this Forum? I don't think so.

Where are all the Gew 98's now???, thousands if not millions made, I'm not tripping over them! Good Luck finding one.

It's not me who is on the soapbox about how wrong it would be for someone to "possibly" take a 90 year old parts gun and convert it. I personally have no interest in collecting memorabilia from a war 90 years ago, even less so from the "enemy". But, different strokes for different folks. :)

If someone wants to make Supercub an offer on this "rare piece", I'm betting he's willing to listen.

Otherwise, it's his to do with as he wants.

Sorry to vent, but I sometimes get a little weary of people who are quick to tell someone else what they should do, the moral high ground if you will.

Pat (Mr. Soapbox),

You need some Bastard Files and Hack Saws for your next Bubba Project!

I could care less about your opinions about milsurps or anything else, as you have nothing to contribute.

I must say you have a nice looking rifle -- good pictures too. Is the only major difference from a k98 the barrel length and bolt handle?

Better keep an eye on it -- sounds like coyote ugly is pretty desparate to get his hands on one... ;)

Actually, besides that, there are other subtle differences throughout.
