Hi,

Kinda wondering pros / cons of 98B .338LM.
Other than price is high, ammo is expensive.
What other pros / cons make you WILL or WILL NOT buy it?

Barrett rifles are high quality and you won't go wrong getting one. One big CON with 338LM is not having a place to shoot where you can set targets at 800 meters and beyond.
Kind of a waste in my opinion to shoot 338LM at 100m or inside 500m. Hopefully you have a place to shoot the type of distances the 338LM was designed for?

Why would I not get one?
Because I have absolutely no use for one.
If you want one, go for it.

I like to compete. Brakes are not allowed, because they hurt they guys on either side. 338 needs a brake.

Are you competing in F Class matches? Have you considered other calibers? For a variety of reasons, 338LM is not a common caliber for long distance precision shooting sports in the civilian world.

This!

If you want one get one. I have a 338 coming my way, I probably won't get to shoot it too often (hopefully once a month past 1K) but who cares.

I wanted it so I got it.

Hi,

Yes. I have my 338 coming my way too. I did a bit research and I decided to go for it.
My idea is if I can have only ONE, I'll get one can do the most works (mainly range, maybe a bit hunting).
After a while, I was conused not many people talked about it, I started doubting if it is THAT good.
No question now. Thanks to you all.
