Just like anything out there , only buy it if you really want it. Assume that it is a refurb and pay accordingly! I can claim anything I want and with out documentation it's really just a claim!

Spanish mausers of the M43 and m44 variant aren't discussed a whole lot.
There are myths of the steel being weak, but never seen evidence of it.
I have the M43. The m43 you can see the refurb as the bolt locking lug edges are buffed to death. Works well, and is slick as butter, but refurbed.

Some have unused german ww2 armourer parts on them.

They sit at gunshows around here for $350.

They seem well built though. Mine is heavy and feels solid as hell.

I have both the M43 and M44 variations and have owned several others of each in the past. From my experience the M44's don't seem to be refurbed and are better made. The M44 usually has German made rear sight components and the machining of the receiver and bolt seem to be better than on the M43. This is hard to tell though because as CanadianAR mentioned the M43's were buffed pretty heavily when they refurbed them.

M44's usually go for a bit more than the M43's for whatever reason but both can be found in the 200-350 range depending on condition.
