I am loading 9mm for a post-war P38. I understand that these pistols wont handle hot loads very well. Right now, I am using 3.8 grains of bullseye with an OAL of 1.125.

For the peace of mind, it would be nice to know if this is considered a safe, light load for my P38.

Does anyone have any data for bullseye with a 124/125 grain LRN?

Thanks!

I have a P1 (post war version of the P38) and it wont cycle properly with the light/regular loads I used for IPSC production class with my Glock 17. With 115gr FMJ bullets those use 4.3 grains of Bullseye.

For the P1 and 115 gr bullets, I worked my load up to 4.7 gr of Bullseye to cycle reliably.

Good luck with your P38!
