I've seen all this talk about barrel swapping between the M&P 9, 40 and 357 sig. Tried searching, but hte strings are too short. Questions are as follows:

1. Has anyone tried 40 cal mags in their S&W M&P 9mm??
2. How reliable are they?
3. How many rounds of 9mm could you cram in?

Thx

I have tried this with 2 mags. One fit 12 and ther other fit 13. One was reliable and one was not (slide staying open with rounds in mag, needed to rerack) but can't remember which. I can try again and report back when I get a chance

It works with the p226. You have to get a factory made 10 rounder in .40sw. I was able to fit 13 and eventually 14 9mm. Functioned perfectly over 4 magazines. I need some ammo to see where 10 .40s sit in the mag, to ensure I'm not stressing the mag spring at 13/14 rounds. Other than that I'm very happy.

Works perfectly and legally in a Sig 226, 14 fit in mine and cycle just like the 9mm mag. This really doesn't help you, but Sig 226 works great. My buddy shot 1 before I started recording, 14... sorry for the wind noise, was crazy windy that day.

hmm.

well htanks for the input guys, I guess its hit or miss.. I definately would not give up reliability for 3 more rounds.

I bought a 4th 9mm mag from Cabelas, and sometimes it hangs up in the magwell when trying to release it.

thanks again
