12 To 14 .....yeah It Suck S

With the price of brass, copper and lead on the upward trend, stock up on factory ammo and/or reloading components if you have the sapre $$'s or a good credit rating !

I don't thinks things will get any better, I believe (speculation on my part, not scientific) that the war in Irak is starting to stress supplies of those materials and causing pressure on prices..

13.60 tax in at LeBaron for a 50 pack of WWB 124Gr or 147 TCMC. 115 is like 13 flat IIRC.

To expensive and I can't find anywhere to buy in bulk that will save me money, mostly because it is all negated by the cost of shipping ect.

"...hang out at the range with a squeegee..." That's not as daft as it sounds. Know a kid who was making 3 or 400 bucks a week, at 14 or so, cleaning windshields in TO. Not recently.

Wolf Bullets

Wolf Bullets in Kingston has reloads starting at the following price. If you don't like plain lead add about $30 for jacketed:

9mm 135 gr. Lead RN 1000 rounds $153.80

Just a word about Wolf. Some people swear by him. Others swear at him.

Reliable Gun and Tackle in Vancouver, I believe these are the current prices:

Remington UMC 115 gr. Metal Case, 500 rounds - $119.99

(same as above) 250 round yellow box - $59.99

(same as above) 50 round white and green box - $11.99

So it is really all the same price, in these quanties.

Remington UMC 147 gr. Leadless - $13.99

Most of the other 147 gr. stuff or hollow-points are about the same, $14 bucks. The 115 or 123 gr. FMJ stuff seems to be usually a buck or two less.

They used to have some that was $10.99, but not anymore.

Everywhere else in town is either about the same, or a little more expensive.

In Victoria, Island Outfitters (Al) often stocks some Fiocchi cheapo blue box 9mm for 10.99/50. He's waiting on a resupply right now.

Marstar has it for $ 229.00 per 1000

Ya I did that math on that....
1000 rounds, at 50 per box, thats 20 boxes.

MarStar "Bulk" 1000 Rounds Winchester White Box 124Gr 9MM.

$229 case x 0.14 tax = $261 + 20 shipping (probably more)
$280 / 20 = 14.00 per box of 50 or .28 cents per round.

Wolverine's Federal 9mm AE9FP

$213.95 x 0.07 = $227 + 30 bucks for shipping (again, probably more) call it $260.
$260 shipped to me door. 13.00 per box or .26 cents per round

LeBaron has the WWB 50 Packs in 124Gr and 147 TCMC for 11.94 + tax. Total is 13.60 per box after tax. I save about 40 cents per box and I get to pick it up locally and go shooting right away. Cost is .28 cents per round. IIRC 115Gr is like $10.76.

Now other guys who don't have to pay the PST that are out of province thats one bonus, but your shipping it farther away so shipping goes up and your lose your savings.

Looks like Wolf might be putting my order through, http://www.wolfbullets.com/Spec.htm. Don't know what the best range ammo would be tho.

Are they all out of the "Value Packs" ($17.18/100)?
w w w.lebaron.ca/pdf_fall_06_07/specials/p2_win_ammo_sp.pdf
This works out to $9.79/50 taxes in!! (and that's our taxes :( )
I was planning a trip into the big smoke and stock up on this stuff!

Yep, at least at the Mississauga one has been out for a while since there was a thread on here about that stuff. I am not sure about the 3 other LeBarons, but I'd venture to say they are low aswell.

I asked the ammo counter guy who is a nice guy and he told me that they have been waiting on them for a while. The 100 value packs have been expected in for a while now. I asked if they could order me in a 1K case and they said nope because they have to get their stuff. Either way I don't think I'll save any money from buying in a case from LeBaron but you never know.

As noted, the days of relatively cheap ammo are long gone.
Some places will cut you deal on a case...Most of the larger suppliers won't.
I was just in Florida this week...in a local gun shop, American Eagle 147Gr.
9MM was $13.50/ 50 round box:eek:
I suggest that you buy as much as you can afford...WHEN you can find it...
Sooner than you think, you'll be looking back to "when I could buy a box of 9MM for $20", as 'the good old days'!
