Well with the 9mm AR project completed. I have turned my attention to the mag question. I realize that Questar has the C-Products 10rd'ers, that said has anyone tried to attach a base to create a longer length? or tried a Magpul?

I have the AR 10rd'ers and they work fine with the "Tac"pul. Are the RRA full length 10rd'ers that some folks have still around? Available?

Overall, what works? and what's the best direction to go in?

the plastic 10 rounders are the same length as the 32 round colts, frankly I think the colt mags are the best made, but your limited to 5 rounds in them

the metal 10 rounders from questar are close to 20 round size, someone had a picture of them posted inserted in a gun, I think magpuls will fit on them no problem.

Thanks Bud, BTW I saw the write up on CG of your REM built by ATR. I have the same thing on the go, only in a Savage. I'm a lefty too. Thanks for the input. I saw a pic on the website and they come level with the magwell. I know that Colt is "king" but I want the 10rd capacity.

He actually did it, I went with the Badger, it was awhile ago. I then decided to go with the V-Bull conversion and McMillan stock. I saw the bottom metal at TacOrd for the first time the other day and I was impressed with Ed's work. No second thoughts on that purchase I can tell ya. I'm not going all out on this one. This will be what I call a "course gun". So not very HSLD just something to shoot, and low maintenance. I was impressed with your rifle however.

I found the 10 round Pro mag (RRA a bit finicky) although the sample size was two 9mm AR.

Colts are only 5 rounds but they work especially the early mags with steel followers.

Mildot - you'll be able to test drive both mags this sat. ;)

ETA - I also blame Westicle's ATR build for my newest cash dumpster - currently built by TacOrd - Rem 700 based, McMilan A5, V-bull bottom...yadda yadda yadda.

Thanks Buds! yea I might approach TacOrd and see if a "mag base" can be made for the Questar ones? Kinda like the same thing they do in IPSC.
I want the 10rd capacity, so either its a base or maybe the 9mm Magpuls?

Just ordered 10 (10) rounders from CRAFM cause the paperwork Questar asks for just purchasing Magazines was too much effort. (I am lazy ok). Should be here next week sometime in the new year.

the thing with questar all I did was put my PAL and Drivers License on my desk and photograph them, then emailed that to them..... you only have to submit it once and then your good to go.

I am interested in the availability of 9mm AR mags as well. As far as I can tell the only mags available new in Canada are the 10-round C-products mags. I don't see anybody advertising anything else (other than maybe in the EE, in which case they are gone in 5 seconds to one of the guys that hordes them all). I have a couple of the C-products mags now... and I am curious about what other people have done to lengthen them up to get something on there to grab on to.

I'm still in the process of setting up my 9mm AR so that it will feed and extract reliably. Once I achieve that, I think I will be inclined to not mess with the mix, and just use the 10-rounders. However, if anything pops up for sale... like a Colt mag, plastic 10-rounder, etc. ... I will be one of the legion of guys trying buy them.

I agree with your train of thought, I want to use the 10rd'ers as well but would like to adapt them to a "full" length configuration. This is similar, I think to IPSC, where you add mag bases to increase your "grip" length on the mag. Once again if the need was there I'm sure someone would develop a base.
