Bought a stripped Nork lower off gunaddicts and was thinking of building a 9MM PDW. What would be nice is you can get LAR mags in 9MM with the couplers and where to get them(besides driving to Montana). Are all 9MM mags pretty well the same? For guys that reload pistol is way easier to reload and to build 9MM rounds is cheap and easy. I will still keep my .233 but a nine would be fun.

I have made a handy modification similar to the idea of the LAR .223 mag connectors. I took 2 base plates and riveted them together reattached the mags to the base plates and wrapped around the joining section with good old duck tape to make a reasonably sturdy and aesthetic double ended mag. They work well, make for better handling and quicker reloads during action shooting. Give it a try and see what you think.

well 1st you CANNOT get mags from the usa without export permits
2nd the best mags are the factory colt 9mm mags VERY VERY well made the early ones even have a metal follower BUT they are expensive

You can get LAR-9 mags from quest star ..they are 10rds...as the are made for ( and stamped ) the LAR-9 pistol. They work in 9mm M-4s of all varieties if you have the necessary conversion parts. Then simply follow my previous post and you will have easy to handle 10rd dbl ended mags.
Brownells sells the Rock River 9mm upper/bolt kit and mag well insert which I have fitted into a few receivers and added some of the Questar 9mm mags. Works like a charm, shoots like a dream. (16" barrel, flash hider, flat top upper, buffer & spring all in nice RR quality. All you need is a lower parts kit & stock.) If you need more details message me as I have a couple of spare sets.
