So there is a company called "special interest arms" that does a "novem" 9mm para rifle.

Basically, I want a 9mm para rifle in a bolt for a variety of reasons. Are there any options inside canada outside of doing an import with prophet river or somebody??

thanks for any input guys/gals.

I'm not sure what rules around it, but you could open up the bolt face on a .223 sized bolt (.384), and have a barrel chambered for 9mm using a 358 blank? Sounds like it could be an interesting project.

It looks like Sporteque in QC carries Armscor so you could see if they can get you the base rifle. The rest should be pretty easy for a competent gunsmith IMO.

At one time I played with the idea of converting a Brno Fox to 9mm. Never did the project.
I have altered destroyer carbines to 9x19. Remove the barrel, set it back, recut the chamber. Magazine won't work when loaded to capacity with the shorter 9x19 rounds, OK with 5 or so.

I had a destroyer for awhile, they are crude but I liked it and should have kept it. But I wouldn't touch one at today’s prices. I’m surprised ruger hasn’t offered one in the 77/xx series.

I also wanted a Novem 9mm so I bought an Armscor M22 TCM BA (which is the rifle Special Interest Arms starts with) from I Run Guns and rebarreled it in 9mm. It's pretty easy, the barrel threads are just 3/4 NF. You don't want to use just any old action though, rear locking lugs are the best for feeding a short pistol cartridge. The M22 TCM also take the same 10 round mags as their pistol. It's pretty fun. :d
