To each his own........but allow me to add my 2 cents.....
The best thing about a "pistol carbine", is that it's reasonably inexpensive to shoot. Seems to me your loosing a big chunk of the advantage by going to a more expensive ammo. Jast saying...
With 50rds of 9mm around $15 a box, I see that as an economical afternoon of fun with my JR.

Already have a 9mm sub2k, and I am interested in a .357 SIG carbine.

I spoke with rep named kevin from thureon today. And a couple reason he said they were better then others, Was yes that they can use any ammo including Plus P. Also you can take it down and clean it in like 20 secs with no tools. Where as JR needs wrench and allen key/screw drivers. And carbine is machined from solid aluminum billet it is then anodized and polymer coated. I also have to say thureon staff was super quick and helpful with my questions. Look forward to seeing your review travellerw, when you get it.

JRs can use Plus P. check their website.

The thureon looks anorexic.....

Yeah they seem to have solved plus p issue.

Thureon bare is no skinnier then a bare JR I dont think. All the extra rails and bipods and scopes are what give them heft. I mean how big does a 9mm gun have to be. But to each there own as far as aesthetics go.

I actually plan on ordering the same top rail that Hickok45 has in his video. Thureon Defense lists it for about $55 on their facebook page. I think it just look nicer..

The JR definitely has a fatter hand guard, but to me looks a lot more "Toy" like.

Aesthetically speaking the Thureon "looks" skinn/small/anorexic. Stock JR Carbines seems a lot beefier. I wouldn't be able to comment on performance of Thureon as I have never handled one. I can tell you that my JR has performed flawlessly with all types of 9mm ammo, but this wasn't the case in early generations and they definitely have the vBugs worked out and the warranty support (if you actually needed it) is second to none. The nice thing about the JR is the ability to change calibres on one platform.

Traveller: that JR use posted I believe is an older version. They no longer have the angular barrels. I would be the first to admit, that angular barrel is ugly.

I know this has been asked before, but who carries the newest generation of JR carbine in 9mm?

I wouldn't hesitate buying from Al Flaherty's again.

Even living in BC shipping has been pretty fast from Ontario and they are a great bunch of guy's.

got my JR carbine a week ago. Was told it was imported 3 weeks prior. Its the newest generation JR. Bought it from frontier firearms. They have some left in .40 i believe. 100 rounds threw my 9mm without a single problem. Such a solid rifle.

Do you know if we're able to order this rail directly from Thureon, or do we have to wait for the Canadian dealers to get ahold of it. I'll buy the carbine right now if I'm able to get that rail for it.

I don't think are are any left in Canada at the moment. You should be able to purchase that rail direct though.

Any idea when the next shipment would be, and if the Glock mag version will be available in this shipment?
The model that takes the non-Glock mags looks way better, but I already have some Glock 17 mags, so I think the Glock model might make more sense for me.

Your best bet is to send an e-mail to Arms East. I don't have any affiliation with them except I bought my gun there. I did ask about the Glock version when I purchased and they said a couple of months (that was 2 weeks ago).

I do know that shipments can get hung up in customs though. So a couple of months can turn into 4 pretty easy.

On another note.. I REALLY LOVE THE GUN.. So cool. Really a marvellous piece of engineering.

It's definitely at the top of the list of pistol-caliber carbines that I'd purchase.
I'll give Arms East a holler and see what they have to say.
Thanks.
