9mm conversion kit or new gun?

I currently own a Sig P226 in 22LR. It's my first handgun and I really enjoy it.

I have little experience with handguns in general but I would like to get a 9mm already. Yep, I was bitten by the bug!

There is a plethora of nice 9mm out there and I have set my eyes on a few that feel good in my hand: S&W MP9 2.0, Sig P320, Walther PPQ and HK SFP9. Coincidentally, they are all striker fire.

Some are on the cheaper end of the spectrum while others are a few hundreds more.

My question to this forum is: for roughly the same amount of money, would you rather get a 9mm conversion kit for your existing gun, or would you buy a second gun outright?

Thanks.

^^ This.A second gun trumps a conversion kit in my book esp with only one pistol in the collection so far. Two guns!! lol

On that note keep an eye on the EE 'cause 226 conversion kits pop up regularly.

Imo... Conversion kit

If you like shooting your sig in 22, wait till you shot it in 9mm. ;)

That’s my setup right now and i’m super happy with it.

Yeah keep the .22 but very soon you will forget you ever have .22 pistol ;) I have about 4 .22 pistols I rarely shoot them now. One became my son's start up pistol and the rest of the 3... I really don't know what to do with them. Wanna sell them on EE but I never done it before and kinda worry about the process....

Second gun.

Then a third.

And so on....:p

Totally get a second gun. if you really like the way your .22 fits just get the 9mm version.
DO NOT sell the .22 it is an excellent thing to have when taking new shooters to the range AND if you are like me you WILL continue to shoot it as it is cheap and you don't have to feel guilty about unloading a couple hundred rounds if you just want to shoot something.
