Interesting document, thanks for the link. I know the military police use a 147 gr bullet but I can't recall if it has the NATO Design Mark or not.

Interesting that your cartridge case have the NATO Design Mark but the box is marked Luger. If the box marking is correct then it would appear that the cartridge cases are actually from a contract overrun. When you shoot this stuff I am curious if felt recoil is more than other 115 gr ammo you have used.
 
9mm "Nato" IS 9mm Luger, just to a specific Nato requirement. It is not super-powered SMG-only ammo.........it is used in all 9x19 weapons used by Nato countries.
 
If I were you my friend I'd pick up a reamer and just sit and have a beer and ream them out . if I remember right and I know someone is going to make a comment . but if I remember right you will get a little extra life out of that brass. I was told that many years ago . I have some old IVI 9mm I reamed out and it's still good years later.

a good friend of mine lives north of you . when you need it all useable brass is good . the reamer is'nt that expensive.
 
I will shoot it and I bought a reamer. I'll send Winchester an email, purely out of curiosity.
 
You only have to ream (or swage) the crimp once on military brass. Once you have done that you are good to go. Often military brass is slightly thicker (less case capacity) so your load data should be slightly reduced (usually start -15% from max) at first and look for signs of pressure. Any military brass I used for 5.56 has had good life span (North American production). Phil.

I would be stunned if they indicated it was +P. Try some IVI 9mm to see the difference (it was initially made to run the SMG's and is a little on the hot side for Browning Hi Powers but still do the job). Phil.
 
I went to the range and the brass was being ejected in a very fouled/sooty state. I am no expert on blowback style semi-auto, but it seems as though the bolt is starting to come back too soon. I did go through one box (100) and the third to last was a failure to eject causing a jam. I haven't written to Winchester yet, but I certainly will.

Thanks - this was the first time I fired it and I don't have any other ammo on hand to compare it.
