Anyone got any idea where this ammo came from, how old it is, and whether or not I should try shooting it? My grandpa gave it to me once I got my 9mm Taurus.

I believe it is canadian WW2 surplus. Its loaded good and hot for stens. It'll work, but I wouldn't feed a pistol a steady diet of it.

Yeah, I only got a couple boxes of it, I think I will try shooting a mag or two then keep the rest. I have a few different calibres and types of ammo from the late 20's and up.

Good point. Treat it as corrosive until you know otherwise.

Does anyone know when CIL/IVI/DI stopped using chlorated primers???

Dominion CIL switched to noncorrosive c1935. DI used a noncorrosive primer. WWII DI/DCCo 303, 30-06, 7.92, 9mm,380Enf, 45ACP,45LC, 455 was nc.
