just wanted to know load data for 9mm lead 135 grain with unique i have for 125 grain lead bullet but not for 135 gr.

Like you I have a box of 135 grain lead 9mm. I use bullseye am going to try 3.1 to start, this is in the middle of the 130 and 147 grain loads.

My lyman book does not show 135 grain either so for unique I split the difference between the shown starting grains and came up with a starting load using 3.35 of unique.

I`m not suggesting you try this, I`m going to, it should be ok as it is at the lower end of the scale.

The place where I deal is selling the 135 grain 9mm for $25.00 for 500. Reason for the low price is that most shooters are using the 125, 130 and 147 grain bullets.

Hope you find a good recipe that works for you.

I loaded 9mm 147grn cast with 3.2 grain of unique and it works great. I have not check the velocity, but accurate.

used the lee manual. I see that the less a bullet weighs, the more powder to add.

of course, consult a manual before you take that crazy advice :p

There's not much difference between 124gr. and 135gr. (11grs.?)
just start with a mild load for 124gr., and work up from there.
I shoot 135gr. lead, and I load 4.8grs. of hogdon HS-6. (very accurate)

Speer#11 book says 4.1gr to 4.5gr of unique using a lead 125gr bullet.
For the 135gr lead bullet I would start at 3.5gr of Unique go from there..

Keep in mind that if the muzzle velocity of your loads starts getting up around 1000 fps, you may develop severe barrel leading problems. I went through a lead bullet period (gave up and went back to jacketed) and found I could avoid leading by using gas checks on the bases of the lead bullets. Good luck.

Resurrecting the thread...

My local store (Epps) has 135 gr lead 9mm bullets.

I currently have lots of Unique and Clays powder on hand but no data in either Hornady or Lyman 49th ed.

Anyone have a successful load figured out since the last post in mid May???
