9mm load with 147 gr bullets

What is the OAL?

I discovered that my IGB 40-9 Glock barrel can go max 1.150. I am going to try some at 1.13" (3.3gr Titegroup and a separate taper crimp at 0.376").

I starter another thread about OAL and 147gr Campro projectiles a couple of weeks ago. 1.060 suggested OAL is quite different.

I really appreciate the input! Thanks all!

The OAL length is the only factor I think that might be the issue here. I miked some rds and they measured 1.135". My Speer manual recommends 1.130" for 147 GDHP and 147 TMJFN.
OAL of 1.060 sounds very short for the bullet weight.

I'm going to load some at 1.130" and give them a go, reducing the powder charge to 3.2 grs Tite Group. I'll report on results.

BTW - I used Unique back when I shot 9mm Brownings in IPSC as I used to buy it in 8 lb kegs for 9mm, .38/.357 and .44 Spl./Mag. It was my 'go-to' powder for years, and that was the old 'dirty' formulation. Smoky stuff and I got really good at gun cleaning ...... ;>)

Campro 147gr 9mm RNFP
Blazer Brass
Dominion Arms Small Rifle Primer
3.0gr of Titegroup
OAL 1.080"
Average is 880fps (129PF) out of G17 on a red Chrony

This is such good info!! I just lapped up this entire thread! I'm on a BC Ferry from Van Isle back to Powell River and this is killing time so nicely! :)

I ordered some 115gr CamPro bullets from "a certain outlet" and just snagged a 4lb jug of TiteGroup while I was in Nanaimo. What would you lads recommend for a plinking charge? I just shoot steel at 25 yards usually.

I also have a couple pounds of 231 I should use up :)... recommendations?

Wow! 1.080" and 1.100" with 147 gr bullets ..... That's deep. But, I don't knock success, and right now I ain't having much of that.

I just loaded 50 seated to 1.130" with 3.3 TG and I'll load another 50 seated to 1.125" and 50 more to 1.120", the last two with 3.1 grs TG.

You're lucky to find some Titegroup
