Just got a new SA 9152 single stack 1911 a couple weeks ago . Going to use 124gr bullets.Any recommended loads that work real well in these ?

Thanks,

My favourite load for my lead cast 125 gr bullets is 4.7 gr Unique.

For FMJ I got this load from Stephen A Camp. It is in the +P range but is very accurate and that is 6 gr Unique under 125 jacketed or plated.

Both loads shoot well in my Trojan and Norinco. The 6 gr load is ok in 1911 pattern pistols but would require a heavier spring if tried in Browning HiPower/CZ platform.

FWIW if you have problems with your slide locking back on the last round check your recoil spring. My Trojan came with a 14# spring which was to much for the 9MM cartridge. Went to a 12# spring and solved teh problem.

Thanks Robert, of the 7 or 8 diffent powders I have here I do not have Unique nor do I think any one local carries it . Only Win , Hodgdon and IMR in this area .

Umm, Unique is a particularily good powder for the 9MM. I have had sucess with Win 231 in the 9MM.These are lead loads, I have tried - 4.1 gr under 125 gr lead worked well with avg vel of 1100 fps.

didn't mention this before but make sure you have a 10 -11 lb recoil spring in your gun or you may experience lock back problems with your slide after the lasat round is fired. My Trojan came with a 14# spring which was to heavy for the 9MM.

Stay Safe\\ps Try to get some Unique. Just a great powder for the9MM.

My go-to powder for 9mm is HS6......
It was the first powder I tried, and after trying a half dozen more, it's the most consistant and gives me the velocity I want.
