hello everyone.

i am reloading 9mm luger.

the projectiles i have are 124Gr Frontier swaged flat point TMJ
the powders i have are Winchester 231 and HP-38

what OAL and powder charges do you use for this combination?

Are you just plinking or are you trying to make a power factor.

My gun requires 4.4 grains of 231 with a 124 grain bullet to get the speed up to make minor power factor in ipsc.

My AIM 124 Load workup:
Bullet Manufacturer :AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 3.8 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 912.4 Power Factor: 113

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.0 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 953.0 Power Factor: 118

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.2 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 1006.2 Power Factor: 125

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.4 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 1022.0 Power Factor: 127

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.6 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 1063.5 Power Factor: 132

Going to run up a few hundred of the 4.6 grain load to give a try.

For plinking, I would go with either 3.8 or 4.0 231...
Makes for a more pleasant range session with less 'snap' but decent accuracy.
I find that unless you are going for a set Power Factor, the low end loads in just about any calibre make for more pleasant shooting, often with surprising accuracy.
