I'm fiddling around with my 9mm Luger hand loads (I'm trying to make the prettiest cartridge possible with my current equipment). I think I am at a disadvantage since I am using LEE dies but its all I have for now. WSS nor Cabelas had RCBS when I was in the market a few months back. Anyway...Moving along...My problem is that I have been getting some very slight bulging in the case right below the base of the bullet. I figure it is because I am not flaring enough but I'm not really sure. Since I am unsure and really quite new to hand loading, I thought I would ask you fine reloaders out there - how far do you flare you 9mm luger brass prior to bullet seating? Does anyone measure the diameter of their case necks after flaring? I am using the LEE factory crimp die in the end but the bulge is there prior to crimping. I am seating Aim Projectiles, 124gr .356" diameter, CJ RN bullets to an overal length of 1.125"
Thanks!
