I'm looking for 9mm major load data and recoil spring info for a 5" 1911 without a compensator. I'm having a little trouble with this so some help from experienced and knowledgeable 9 major shooters would be appreciated.

This is a good question and it also interests me but I can understand why no one wants to give out that load info, it's pushing the envelope in both the 9mm case and most pistols. I know a 150 PF gave no issues in two of my pistols but am not sure I want to try for any higher number.
A friend in OT that know a few shooters that go that route told me the brass is junk after 1 loading and the pistol's have to be rugged to with stand those hi pressures. My someone will PM you on some load data to make 170 PF.

If nobody wants to give out data, how do people get started shooting 9mm major? where does the data come from?
I own a robust 1911 with a fully supported nearly heavy weight barrel and a forged frame and slide so i have no worries there.
I spoke with a guy at the local range who shoots 9mm major and he told me that his brass lasts so many loading he quit counting. At least ten loadings he said.
I appreciate any data you send my way. I'll ask my contact from the range as well so i can compare. Thank you

okay,
Presently using AA#7, 9.6 gr. OAL 1.150" for the 121gr bullet, almost the same as the discontunued HS7, prefer this 2 powders than my previous powders, it gives me more room for seating the bullet, its not a "credit card load", no powder spills especially if using an auto index press. its not as clean as the VVhit. N350, 3N38 and 105 but not as expensiive, as long you clean your gun every 500 rnds then your okay.
btw, the bbl has 2 ports, 4 top ports and 4 side ports for the comp, lots of gas man, lol
Special order from Rusty wood, 3 weeks of wait. good luck

Highly recommend that you have a chronograph and work up your load
If I were looking for known good loads, I would be checking Brian enos forum

In my case, no.There's no benefit. But i'm interested in trying it. I've always had an interest in calibers that are not main stream. I'd love a 9x23 Winchester but i don't want to permanently modify my pistol and i can't afford a new barrel. That leaves 9mm major. It's a cheap way to try a hotter 9mm cartridge. It's all just for fun.

I own a 1911 with a forged frame and slide with a FULLY SUPPORTED/RAMPED BARREL. The barrel is nearly a HEAVY profile. It's very thick and robust. Like they used a 45 barrel and bored a 9mm hole in it.

Since you just want to try a 9 major, there other powders also you can use, WW Auto Comp, CFE pistol, HS6.
