Interesting question. I'll throw out, fwiw
Do you have any roundnose bullets around? Does their ogive (the outer shape, it's curve) match what your flat nose has? If so, seat to match the slug's outline, as if you were trying to duplicate what it would look like we're your RN's to magically turn into FN's.... did that make sense?
The round headspaces on the edge of its rim. You're then looking to place the bullet in acceptable relationship to the rifling's leade, before the 'bang moment'.
And the part of the bullet that engages the leade, is called (well, perhaps is an aspect of,) the ogive.
'oh jive' is how it's pronounced I think, might be 'oh jeev'. I've also heard 'oh geev'. Anyway, there's 2 cents.

If you have another bullet you know the oal for then measure it against your new bullet. That way you get the base of the bullet the same depth as the one that works.
Otherwise start low and seat the bullet deep enough so it fits your chamber and mags.

^this would be nice to do if the barrel and slide could be separated from the frame, a la Browning or 1911. So that it's easier to tell what's going on, and to avoid unintentional 'bang moments'.... if you do this with a powdered round...
What sort of 9mm pistol has no way of separating the slide and/or barrel from the frame? A P7 has a fixed barrel, but field stripping will still allow you to use the barrel to determine correct seating depth. Also, in case it isn't obvious, you need to make a dummy round to do this. Save it as a "master" once you have your seating die adjusted properly so that you can return to the same setting if you ever use a different type of bullet and want to switch back.
