I had my girsan yavuz 16 for a while and find it excellent quality and accurate as hell... so I saw this MC 1911c at my local gun store. So I got both. Not as smooth as the yavuz but it has a potential and at less than half price of a kimber I am happy with it. I may do a few upgrades to make it better but all in time. Opinions welcome

the 1911 looks very nice. is it a 70 or 80 series? please put a range report when you have a chance. curious to see how it shoots.

The 1911 is a commander version made by girsan. No idea what the difference is between 70 and 80.
As for the 92 compact copy I can say that it is extremely accurate. I can get 2" groups at 20 yards shooting both hands.
1911 has yet to be tested. Can't wait.

What our friend means is does it have a firing pin block or not?

Remove the slide and see if there is a plunger on the underside about a cm or so from the back.

With the slide off, and Controlling the hammer, pull the trigger and see if a little tab pops up out of the right side of the frame, the same distance from the back.

Those are the hallmarks of the Series 80 - an unnecessary Rube Goldberg device hated by folks who do not like it, for a few reasons

I had it apart 50 times since I got it 5 days ago so I remember it without looking. No firing pin block. Why is it hated device? I mean I never seen one in a single action gun

Gun is great. Shoots left which is easily adjusted but....really low. I think i will put some adjustable sights on it. Otherwise its great.
