hello guys,

has anybody or is it safe to modify a 9mmluger bbl to 38supr, or to a suprcomp? more info on this please.

Sorry, but it's not a safe conversion. The 9mm is .010 wider than the .38 super just ahead of the extractor groove. The front end of the new chamber would be fine, but the rear would be oversized.

Use the supercomp brass, it'll fit the breech face better.
This conversion will leave you with bulgy brass that can be reloaded in 9mm P dies.
this is not a great conversion, and will be cheaper in the end if you go to a .38 Sup. barrel and dies. Then you can convert back any time you want.

theres a guy here somewhere in cyberspace named clark who claims u can ream a 9x19 tokarev to 9x23win, now theres an interesting conversion!

I coudl see that working. 7.62 TT is a pretty long round.

I have a follow-up inquiry, what about from 9mm luger to 9X21, I know its just the lenght of the casing that they differ, my only concern is how does this caliber if installed in an open race gun, any safety concern, I mean safe to shoot major. There is a guy . a fellow cgners, who is selling his STI STINGER but chambered im 9mm luger. your wise advice again is higly appreciated.

When loaded to the same OAL, there is no difference between 9mm and 9x21. When used in a gun that can accomodate long loaded ammo, the 9x21 is worth while.

The case was designed to get around bans on 9x19 for civilian use in some countrys. In factory loadings, it is the identical load as it's 9x19 cousin, just in a longer case, but the same OAL. It was adopted for use in IPSC because the USPSA banned 9x19 loaded to normal OAL making major. Some of the cases are made thicker.

If the gun works in 9x19, there is rarely any good reason to alter it.
