Wondering if any of you guys have/use a 9mm Flobert and if so, for what? For the longest time, I saw Voere and Anschutz single shots for sale and always wondered if they're more of a novelty, or if they have a practical purpose. (these days, with so many options) I'd like to think they'd be good pigeon-busters for inside the barn, but I'd want to do some tests on metal of a similar gauge to be sure.

Seems the supply of these guns has dried-up, but looking for info to gauge whether or not a search is warranted. The Anschutz I saw photos of had a rear leaf sight and a hooded front, it might be interesting to test the accuracy using those ball rounds too if I found one of those.

If you have experience shooting pests with 9mm Flobert, I'd appreciate your input. Effective range on pigeons would be helpful too, talking sitting birds.

Thanks for taking a moment to chime in!

If you go all the way down to .22 there's the Henry Garden Gun, a smooth-bore version of their lever-action rifle, but between that and a .410 shotgun I can't recall seeing any smoothbore options. Maybe a smallbore musket could be loaded with shot?

In 9mm in particular, nothing but rifled semiautos as far as the eye can see.

This may work for your indoor situation?

Ive never used it but ive seen it on the shelf a few times

Inside barns it works great for doves and pigeons and small birds. Kills rat great. All with #10 shot. The #8 shot will take cottontails and close range squirrels if you pattern on the head
I keep mine for my daughter to learn on reactive targets. With round ball slugs coons are not safe. They'll blow clean thru 1" thick pine board. I carry mine sometimes deer hunting to shoot pesky squirrels that natter at me

I have a voere bolt action single shot. I wouldn't mind getting a 9mm/22lr cape gun

Thanks guys-I've had that Henry GG in my hands maybe 3X now, just thinking that the 9mm Flobert will have more punch.

Re; Henry-It's the nicest looking Henry rimfire in my opinion, so very tempting. I'm already setting up another air rifle for this duty, so I have a good option...just curious to give one a go! :)

The 9mm flobert is a giant step up from the 22lr shot shell
More payload. Bigger shot. Higher velocity. Better patterns. The price of rat shot 22lr has skyrocketed in the past few years.

The smoothbore 9mm flobert is vastly superior to my 9x19 jrc with birdshot as well
