I currently shoot a CZ 85 9mm pistol. And since CZ 75 and CZ 85 shares the same platform, is it possible to convert a 9mm to .40 by changing the barrel and magazine? If this is possible, will there be any conflict in the current registration since technically, I will be owning a pistol in 2 calibers on a single frame. This applies to CZ Kadet .22 cal conversion users.

No registration change needed unless permanent, which it's not.

I doubt you can step up in caliber, most only allow step down without a slide swap at the least.

i would think the amount of money you will spend on the conversion; its probably easier and cheaper in the long run to just sell the 9mm and buy the 40

I was under the impression that you could go from 40 to 9, but not from 9 to 40. I don't know if there are any guns originally chambered in 9mm that will be able to convert to 40. I could be very wrong.

That's how it works with the Browning Hi-Power - install the slide from a 9mm on the frame of a .40S&W and it works, put the .40S&W slide on the frame of the 9mm and it doesn't.

I got a .308Winchester barrel for my .223Remington Handi-Rifle. The CFC said yes, I was supposed to tell them, and they asked about the barrel length and said they put a note on the registration file for that particular gun of mine that it may be in either calibre at any given time and that was all.
