Just got my hands on a 9x23 open gun

the previous owner used 38 supercomp brass.

I know the shellplates are different, and the case is tapered.

What dies would you use?

Thanks in advance for any info

I guess I don't follow your question.
Which cases are you using?
Which shell plate and dies are you trying/wanting/needing to use?

The gun is actually a 9x23, but the brass supplied is 38sc. Since I'm already a 38s owner, i have all the supplies for it already.

I know 223 or 9mm shell plates will work fine.

but from research, the 38sc is a tapered case like 9mm, and was told by some to use my 9mm dies. From more online research i see they say to use 38s dies. But as far as I know 38s dies are straight walled.

so queestion i am asking is, to reeload 38sc, use 9mm or 38s dies?

used to shoot 9x23 long long time ago, used a specific 9x23 dies, the 9x23 is tapered same as 9x19, and a little bit longer than 38, , not sure if its a good idea to used 38 super on a 9x23 chamber. btw 9x19 shell plate is what I used.
almost forgot, 38 supers used same dies, except for the shell plate SC- 223 plates

I have a Matt McLearn Caspian 9X23 that I inherited from my Dad.
(and I even have a big ol' bucket of Winchester 9X23 brass...)

I used Lee 9mm dies to load for it.

9x19; 9X21 and 9x23 - all tapered cases - each just a little longer.
38SC is not tapered; it's straight walled like 38 Super; the only difference between Super and Super comp is that SC is rimless.

If you're going to reshape 38SC brass for a 9X23 chamber, I'd go with the 9mm die - and lots of lube.
