Since making a few unanticipated squibs on Lee progressive equipment, I switched over to the more capable Hornady LNL AP and included an RCBS Lockout die in station 3. Having used this setup for more then 3 years on every pistol round I produce, I will not hesitate to say that a Lockout die should be a mandatory inclusion on every progressive press made. It is simple, accurate, and effective. In fact I have used the die so much that over time I have mangled the little nylon foot pads that cover the end of the detection rod to the extent that they catch on the case edges and will not descend smoothly into the case to start the detection cycle. And yes, I have made enough modifications to the pads to keep things going, but they are now at the point where they have become unusable.
So I went onto the RCBS website to see if I could buy some replacements, but nowhere were they listed as replacement parts. So using the "contact us" page I sent RCBS a nice email enquiring where I might buy some replacement pads. In less than a day, I received a notice from RCBS that they were sending my replacements free of charge under warranty. well they sure didn't have to do that, not for what I would consider a cheap and near-consumable part. That would be like a car company sending you free wiper blades - and when is the last time you had that happen??
Anyway I'm glad that's what they did and they deserve this big kudo from me in thanks. I am delighted that such companies are still around.
