love the abolt, hate the BOSS. Ugly, noisy, pointless. As a general principal, I hate brakes on hunting guns. If you can't tolerate the recoil for the one or two shots it takes, you've got bigger problems. For range use, pick up a recoil pad, if needed.
My abolt is very accurate (though accuracy is highly overrated - who can honestly shoot one hole groups under field conditions, anyway?). I love the action, the 60* turn, the magazine arrangement. The trigger is good, but hardly remarkable. The plastic does seem nicer than the plastic other guns wear, but it might just be that it fits me better. All a-bolts come glass bedded (at the front lug only) from the factory, which no doubt contributes to their fine accuracy. They have a fantastic fit and finish to them - much nicer then the generic low-quality bead blasting most cheaper rifles get. And they seem to hold their value very well.
Certainly for the price, you can get a great rifle from other manufacturers - so in terms of value for the money, the abolt is nothing special. But there is some sort of quality of craftsmanship to them that gives them a charm or pride where other guns feel like anonymous mass-produced commodities.
