well this how couriosity killed the kat:eek:

i made a bunch of 30-06 reloads..just for plinking..
once i was done..i decided i was going to try some crimping..as ive neaver done it before
before the crimp..all fit the chamber no problem..but now its a jam up on the last bit of chambering the round:redface:
i think i crushed the necks a wee bit to much..soooooooooo
whats my options here? pull the bullets and start all over or can i just take out the decapper and resize??

You can resize them using a full-length sizing die for 338-06 or 35 Whelen. :)

Had the same problem many years ago, and that's how I fixed it. Worked just fine.

Pull 'em.

Why do you think you had this problem?

Crimping I think is the number one cause of hard chambering. But it's not rocket science.
Just take it easy. A very light touch, on a bullet that has a crimping groove is all you need, if you need anything at all.
Failing that, get a Lee factory crimp die.

A resizing die reduces the neck diameter below specifications. It doesn't come back to "normal" until the expander button opens the neck up again. A case with a bullet in it could probably only be run into the die if you used enough force to crush the bullet. Thus one gents recommendation for using a 338/06 die or 35 Whelen die to try and re-establish the correct shoulder length. Might work but you may or may not get the correct headspace (length of case to datum point on the shoulder).

You have likely set your die too deeply to put on the roll crimp and have either caused a small bulge in the neck right behind the crimp or forced the shoulder into an expanded condition. If the former condition remove the bullet and powder from the case. Remove the decapping pin from the die and resize and try it for fit before reloading.

If you've bulged the shoulder, pull the bullets, salvage the powder and primer and scrap the brass and start over then you know you will not be dealing with any headspace issues.
