A new acquisition straight from the vets granddaughter.
The M42 is going into my collection. I actually got the M42 for free as a finders fee for the M35.
The M35 double decal is going to a bigger collector in the US. At least I got it for a day. haha

Vets name is Jack R. Donnelly. He served in the RCAF from 39-45 with 4 years overseas.

Helmet is a M42 no decal. ckl66.
Has a nice chinstrap and liner, and a faint domestamp. And a odd doublt strike for maker and batch and it still lacks the C in ckl.

They look great! They DD M35 is tough to find in original condition. I've been searching for a nice DD myself. I had an M35 that was once a DD, but it was re-issued with a textured grey paint and replacement decal. The interior still had the original parade green paint though. I regret trading that one. Most of the German WWII helmets I've seen lately at gun shows have either been outright fakes or in really poor condition.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed I had to let another collector take the DD but I didn't want to spend $1000 on one lid. Lol. And personally I love the look of the M42 style.

$1000 for a double decal!! That is actually much under market price, I sold my re-issue DD that is now a single decal for more money than that. I think you would expect get over $2000 for a nice double decal, even here in Canada.

That's a nice Luftschutz helmet...you dont see too many around with the legible writing and front decal. Thanks for showing.
