A couple of dumb questions...

So I just picked up my first new shotgun... ever. (all the others were hand-me-downs or bought used). Also first one with choke tubes. So here it goes:
1 - Anti-seize for the choke tubes; good or bad idea?
2 - Automotive silicone based lubricants for the action? I've never used it before on pumps or auto-loaders... was just wondering.

don't know about special choke tube grease, but I just use regular gun oil and clean it everytime I clean my gun.

Don't know about the other one, but a bottle of gun oil is only a couple bux, why skim on that?

The anti-sieze isn't necessary, just a drop or two of oil.

Use a proper gun lubricant, not a silicone spray.

All ya need

Like any gun new or used clean it every time your done using it or if its been sitting for a while give it a good wipe once in a while.

Store it in a dry place

If you have some anti-sieze laying about and you leave the same choke in the gun for a long time (months to years) while being used or not, it is a good idea to put some on.

I only put it on my uplannd and waterfowl guns as they never see a choke change in a year. Otherwise the cleaning oil is just fine and easy and quick to apply.
