Picked up these two M38's this month from different sources.

Both are 1943 Izhevsk and all matching with no electro-pencil. The lighter gun is in an M44 stock the dark one is an M38 stock.

I'm definitely keeping the darker one, still on the fence about the other '43 - might need to trade it for a different year or something.

Still, cool to find two decent ones in the same month - these have been tough to locate lately :)

Out of all the Mosins I've seen and tried the M38 is my fav. All the business you want without the frills. No bayonette, no long barrel, just 7.62X54r and a 3' flame thrower!

Yes great mosins to carry around, but for shooting, I'll take an m39 please :)

Great guns......but not for 900$ I think M39 mania got a bit out of hand ;) If I'm gonna shoot a high quality milsurp bolt, give me a K31, 1909 Argentine or a Swede M96.

But the M38 has a huge cool factor in my opinion. I'd love to find more.

Lol... You complain about the price of M39's but won't say a thing about K31 prices?

All guns go up, those who bought one early are happy. Those who didn't will complain until the cows come home, or until they buy one and then they will defend the price increase.

M39's are excellent and will keep going up, same as K31's, K98's etc.

I've got all of them, but I want more ;) ! Yes, the K31 took a big jump too!

Ah yes this is the truth ;) sadly

I'm a bit surprised about the price of Swedish Mausers state side, they seem to be keeping steady here, although I know that will change at some point.

Regular refurb M91/30 imports have started to dry up stateside and the going rate is $250-300 USD now down there. Carbines are even higher. Get ready to see it here too, we're only a few months behind, I think.
