Who shoots a Ruger GP 100 and what do you think of it?

Who stocks Safariland speed loaders in Canada?

OK - that's really three questions .....

Amazon. Ca used to have them a ctcsupplies.ca, I have a gp 100 bought new in 1998, love it but the double action trigger was heavy after 20 years and over 25000 rounds its still heavy... Lol but love that gun

Ruger really put the run on S&W when they released the GP100. Not as eloquent as a Smith but a very close second.

Install a spring kit and you will have a very fine shooting iron.

I have mostly Smiths but my GP100 isn't going anywhere in the foreseeable future.

Hickock45 does a video on the GP 100 3", one of which I just bought off the EE. He likes it, popping his goat sils, chickens and no 2 litre is safe.

I too love my S&Ws, but I wanted something "bomb proof" and the GP 100 has that rep. I put spring kits in my S&Ws so doing it for the GP 100 will be no biggy.

I'll be using it for IDPA. Currently I'm using one of my SW M19 or M66 2-1/2" guns when I'm shooting revolver and they are about the ideal concealed carry revolver for a short ass like me.

Did you do anything to improve the DA trigger pull? I will be shooting it almost exclusively in that mode.

Wolff reduced power spring kit. I only installed the hammer spring AND I had to change to Federal primers in order to get consistent ignition. The hammer spring alone produced a big improvement.

I also bought the Wolff Spring Pack of 9,10 & 12 lb. rated hammer and 8 & 10 lb. rated trigger springs.
I installed both hammer and trigger springs rated at 10 lbs., and found a huge improvement overall, with no ignition problems using CCI, Winchester and Remington primers (no Federal on hand).
An easy and quick do-it-yourself fix which improved the indexing 'feel' for me in double action shooting.
Mine's a 4.2" barrel, and I love the gun (I'm a reformed former S&W fan).

Absolutely love my GP100 4.2" and my brother has the 6" which he loves as well.
Both of us has installed the Wilson combat spring kit and a Hiviz front sight both upgrades highly recommended as it takes the GP100 to just about perfect IMO!
Best place for the safariland and HKS speedloaders is Amazon.

Thanks all! The transfer approval just came in via email. Should have the gun within a week.

I'll see how it runs stock before getting too carried away with springs. "If'n it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is", being my watch phrase.

Got some Comp II speed loaders from CGN members. Couldn't find a stocking dealer.
