H I all, wondering about a 45 BSA jungle carbine.

Its bolt matches the receiver, no sn on the magazine, and it appears the gun is blued.

1) were they all painted with suncorite?
2) were the mags stamped with an sn or electric penciled?
3) any collector value as is?

Thanks, Tom

i have a 1945 BSA. mine is black, but does not appear to be paint, it is the same finish as the No 4s. all matching serials except mag which is clean. i am becoming of the opinion that few mags were issued with a serial # for the No 5. the only painted part on mine is the nose cap. i am the second owner, the guy i got it from bought it new/surplus, in paper wrap, missing bayonet. receiver is electropenciled with NO 5 Mk1 on the left side. other than a chip in the age hardened rubber recoil pad and a scratch here and there, mine is perfect. i have no idea of the value, except i won't be selling. (everything has a price). i have heard anywhere from $300 to $900, but haven`t seen one in anywhere near as good condition as mine.
got it in calgary

My late, late No5 appeared to be blued - not sure if it was blued or parked, but did not look like Suncorite.
I haven't seen a No5 with a matching SN'd magazine - all the ones I've seen were clean
Value - generally between $400 and $600 depending on condition - if you have one that's perfect, it'll go higher, but not quite as high as the equivalent No4 (not sure why)

Hmm well 3 out of my 5 have matching serial numbers on the magazine so they are out there. The serial number is stamped NOT electorpencilled. The other 2 have no serial on magazines. All of mine are suncorite finish other than the nose caps. One of my JC's has 6 matching serials - bolt, receiver, wrist, magazine, buttstock and forestock all stamped except for the receivers. I should clarify that mine are Faz not BSA. Sorry I reread the op.
