none of my friend's care...so I'm showing you guys ;)

No4Mk1_9130_M44_zpse61751db.jpg

1944 Long Branch No4 Mk1* - nice bright bore, wiggly trigger

1925 Izhevsk 91/30 - dark grooves, pitted lands

1945r Izhevsk M44 - shiny, but a bit frosty

None of them are matching, unless you consider the forced serials on the M44 matching. Both of the Russians have had the stocks refinished by previous owners.

Still, they're all nice.

thanks for the support guys..

didn't mean to diss my friends....they just don't quite "get it"

I'm from Vancouver...not a lot of gun sport/collecting lovers here

I understand how you feel. Most of my buddies don't get why I love guns so much too. Vancouver does seem to have lots of antis

since the M44 has already had the stock ruined....what do you guys think about me trying to refinish it a bit more representative of the original look ? Not sure if I'd go the full shellac treatment, or stain it and finish with blo or tung oil.

Let me reiterate....it's already wrecked, it was sanded smooth, nice job, but it's bubba for sure....should I bother ?

Just don't like the super hi-gloss urethane (?) finish on it now, looks like something more suited to a hunting rifle.

Or leave it as is...sell or trade it for a more original piece ? Only thing with that, the bore is nice...all the hardware is pretty nice actually. Hate to let a good bore slip through my fingers.

That's some very nice nice wood on all 3 rifles.

Is wood on 91/30 a replacement? It looks really good for 1925 dated rifle.

I would leave M44 as it is and concentrate on shooting and maybe reloading for all .

With any luck you might be able to feed them all with the same size cast bullets and have a lot of fun for a lot less than buying ammo.

Personally I think that's an excellent refinish - as far as refinishing goes. Looks gorgeous from my computer screen... lol.

I'm an enfield kind of guy, nice full length wood! Looks great. What do you mean by wiggly trigger? Something wrong with the engagement?

same problems :) my girlfriends and my friends dont understand why i love milsurp so much and they dont see the diference like us ( model, mark, years)

your m44 are amazing !! THe wood !!

the trigger swings loose by itself...what I mean is if you pick her up and rock the rifle back and forth the trigger "swings" freely...the second stage is always there...but its like the 1st stage doesn't exist.

the wood on the 91/30 was refinished, looks like a refinish of an arsenal refurb stock...bubba for sure..decent job though
