I hate to put cheap and good in the same sentence when inquiring about an inexpensive AR-15/M4, but hey I have been looking on the EE forum and dealer websites for awhile now to try and find out where to buy or what to buy that is good quality for the price, so I am here to ask. I have used the C7 when I was in the military and I currently use or have access to a Colt Carbine in my current employment, (what can I say I love working for the federal gov.) So I know basically the specs on what I want 14"-16" chrome lined barrel, extending and retracting stock, iron sights on the forestock, removeable rear iron sights, and a quad rail. I have looked for used ones on EE forum and it seems people are asking prices that I could take the same asking amount and just go buy a brandnew rifle so that makes no sense to buy used. I have looked at buy the individual parts from places like Questar and building my own. And I have also looked at buying a cheap Norinco, cause lets face it these are not surgical instruments, they are used to win firefights by getting rounds down range:ar15: My .308 is a surgical instrument:evil: So let me know, give me your wisdom, but not your stupid comments.

Sounds like the Chicom one will work for you with that quotation.
If you want something that is good enough, that will fit the bill.

Get a LMT, Colt, Sabre, KAC, if you want something to hold on to. Or just get a generic lower and add quality parts to your build.

Pretty much anything off the shelf out there would work fine, RRA, Stag, Armalite, CMMG...... 1500 dollars is the average price for your typical off the shelf AR15 in this country.

I concur with them. My buddy got a CQ556, and so far has "run as good as any C7 or C8" he's ever used. I plan to get one some day, too, more or so as my guinea pig for when I get into handloading 5.56/.223 and for any other trial and error experimentations that I wouldn't want to risk with my several-grand SDI carbine. Though it's more of the a hybrid carbine, since it's a good mix of parts, the best ones are Sabre Defence (and are immaculate)!

Norinco's are as good or better than any domestic AR. The only thing they are lacking is finnish. The paint jobs are a little dodgy. Remember, china now has the most high tech manufacturing systems in the world, and a cheap labour force. The only problem with norinco guns is that half an hour after shooting them, you get hungry to shoot some more...

I have made my decision to go with a Norinco. Because of the price and I have researched the weapon and it is if not better, equal to most domestic AR's. The AR's being built in North America are just to expensive and the ones being sold on EE forum well the people selling them are asking to much for a used firearm. I guess its like buying a vehicle these days the imports are more reliable and better quality than the domestics. I guess Norinco has a good thing going cause they just sold one to me. I will be at the Calgary gun show to buy one any Dealers going to have them there??
