Been thinking about picking up either the Mossberg 590 or the Remington 870 tactical for home defense and I came across the 870 for $475+tx. Seems like a fairly good price. I haven't had the chance to hold a 590 yet but seems like I should jump onthis 870 for that price. Any tthoughts? Should I hold out until I can check out the 590?

If i were you I would check out a 590 as well, just to see what shotgun fits you better. Both are nice guns, I have both but the 590 to me at lest seems a bit better as far as finish and materials quality. But 870 "handles better" in my opinion at least.
