I have a can of "scrap" powder I've used when pulling, and it's mixed of various types.

I was wondering what interesting (legal and fun) uses are for old powder ?

My brother-in-law had several containers of old and mismarked powder given to him by a friend. I wouldn't accept it from him because God knows what was actually in those containers. My advice to him was to use it as fertilizer. His garden never looked better.

Fertilizer? Interesting choice. .Imagine cabbage that goes BOOM before u actually eat it! Wu-hoo....Time to start planning that big Grey Cup party's menu..
Thnx for the idea
Cheers
dB:)

Powder has a lot of nitrates in it. Good for plants.

Still, a rather unexciting way to dispose of it.

a couple pounds poured into a 5 gallon steel pail and ignited makes an entertaining show.

I use it to explain the difference between black powder and smokless....

This burns very fast see watch it... and this explodes.... BOOOM

Depending on your orgins (English or Scottish) some appropriate use might be found in celebration of Guy Fawkes day (November 5). Unfortunately you just missed the 400th anniversary last year! :D

I ususally dump crap powder in a cool little trail and light it up at night and watch it burn, like expensive dominos :D

+1

It makes a very entertaining and educational display. But they wouldn't let my kids do this demonstration at school. I can't figure out why? :D

Sprinkle it on your flower beds and when the neighbours cats come to crap on your tulips, toss a cigarette but out the window! Cat's don't bark, but if you time it right, they may go "Woof!";)

Don't Do This-:

Fill into 4 1lb cans, tape tightly together, then tape bunch of live primers to tops of cans. Cover with couple cinder blocks and bury in gravel pile with tops exposed. From 60 yds, fire round into can tops.

Must have been alot younger/dumber in those days.

Dmay, you must have been a lot richer in those days too!

If I had some mixed powder from pull-downs, I'd just burn it too; however, if I got a few pounds of fairly uniform, non-decomposing, but unidentified powder, I'd work-up some loads for it. It's not hard, just a little time consuming.

:D Do tell, didn't most of us do something really dumb with powder at some point? But we ussually walk away (minus eyebrows or half deaf).

Victoria Day, I put 8 lbs Accurate 2230 on a patio stone and lit it. Column of flame twenty feet high!

OPC, I'll give you 5 bux per pound of anything you don't want. The $40 you'd have got for the 2230 would have bought some pretty nice roman candles.
