Parkinson's or not, that doesn't exactly give the warm and fuzzies. Though to be fair, I wonder whether it is the specific gun that has the problem rather than the whole line of the model in general.
Taurus has a virtual monopoly on Brazilian police forces' contracts, and that is, of course, reflected in their QC. That model in particular is known to be prone to NDs, and that much has created in police lingo a play on the pistol's name, which reads in Portuguese "24 barra 7" ("24/7"), but which police members affectionately call "24 falha 7" (24 failure 7").
To be fair, their copies of the Beretta 92 are decent enough. Their striker fired models, not so much.
Thanks for this information. Not being a handgun guy, I had no idea of the history of this. Quite facscinating!
My only experience with Taurus was a Judge that a friend let me shoot. That was quite the interesting experience...in a good way. Kind of wish I had my RPAL then and there.

I shot a 24/7 once. It was the WORST trigger I have ever felt. I pulled it all the way to the rear and the gun still didn't fire, I thought it was broken. Now I know it was user error, I should have been shaking it!
