Hi,
Just new to posting. I'm in the market for a decent yote rifle and I had my mind set on the 22 250. Very fast and with the proper load I could reach out to
about 300 if necessary. But I've recently heard that they are a barrel burner. Is this true? Don't really want to start rethinking caliber selection.
Thanks in advance.

As long as you don't over heat the barrel by shooting long strings back to back it will be fine. Not as long as a 223 but if used for a hunting rifle you shouldn't ever have to worry. A 22-250 may not be the most fur friendly depending on the load

Don't believe everything you hear, as a coyote hunting rifle the barrel will last the rest of your life and your grandsons. Don't go to the range and blow 100 rounds in an afternoon, but if you keep it down to a few range sessions and shooting dogs, you'll never wear it out.

I guess it really depends where you are. If you're shooting valuable coyotes for fur, sorry to say this but you might want to rethink the caliber. If you're "killing predators" then have at it.
